Four days after a woman was found dead from multiple gunshot wounds in the middle of a northwest Atlanta street, authorities have not been able to identify her.
Atlanta police hope a sketch released Sunday night will change that.
The unidentified woman was found Thursday morning in the 1700 block of Hortense Place after officers responded about 7:15 a.m. to a report of shots fired, Atlanta police Capt. Reginald Moorman said.
Residents in the area reported hearing gunshots between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. Some of them found the woman and called 911.
“We don’t have much to go on,” Moorman said. The woman had no identification on her, and “no one has placed her as a member of this community.
“At this point, we are entertaining all theories as to what and why this may have happened.”
The woman is believed to be between 16 and 22 years old and between 120 and 160 pounds, Atlanta police Officer Donald Hannah said.
She was last seen wearing a black nylon Adidas warm-up jacket, a blue and white striped shirt, black denim jeans, socks and pink flip-flops.
She also has multiple linear scars on her left thigh and a scar on her left ankle, Hannah said.
