Public meetings are planned in the coming weeks in Fulton County outside Atlanta on a proposed countywide Transit Master Plan that officials say will address cities’ plans for the future, the potential role of transit and public needs and desires.

A briefing of the Mountain Park City Council is scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday in the Community Building, 100 Lakeshore Drive, followed by “public information and input meetings” at 5 p.m. Thursday at Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill St.; 5 p.m. July 12 at Milton City Hall, 2006 Heritage Walk; and 6 p.m. July 26 at Alpharetta City Hall, 2 Park Plaza.

A second round of meetings is expected this fall.

Fulton officials say they and the Atlanta Regional Commission are developing a plan that will review each city’s community and economic development strategies, analyze existing transit services and needs, and develop a financial model to determine the potential for expanded transit in the county.
