A Paulding County judge denied bond Wednesday for a Hiram woman accused of starting a fire that destroyed or damaged 20 homes in her neighborhood.

Channel 2 Action News reported the judge told Adrienne Satterly, 41, she was a “flight risk and risk to the community.”

Authorities charged Satterly with 14 counts of arson after she allegedly set fire to a pile of mattresses in her dining room before leaving her Rosemont Court home early Sunday morning. The fire destroyed her house and spread to 19 others in the Greystone subdivision.

Paulding fire officials said Satterly had just lost the house in a divorce settlement.

Police initially arrested Satterly on public drunkenness charges after she walked to a Walmart on Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway with her two cats and called 911 at about 3:55 a.m. She asked the dispatcher to have authorities take her home, but didn’t mention the fire.

Four homes were destroyed in the fire and two more were significantly damaged. No one suffered any serious injuries, but two dogs and a cat died in the blaze. Satterly was also charged with three counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

Authorities told Channel 2 that Satterly faces up to 20 years in prison and a $150,000 fine on each count of arson.
