Clayton County police are seeking a driver in connection with a 110-mph crash that killed a teenager and one other person.
Jermil Martavious Smiley, 22, of Riverdale, was going more than twice the 55 mph speed limit at the time of the two-vehicle crash, Clayton police spokeswoman Sgt. Ashanti Marbury said Tuesday in an emailed statement.
“This action was ruled to be the primary contributing factor in this deadly motor vehicle accident,” which occurred about 8:20 p.m. Nov. 5 at the intersection of Tara Boulevard and Mundy’s Mill Road, Marbury said.
Bennie Fuller, 59, and Morgan Cleaves, 16, were killed in the crash. Three passengers in the vehicle driven by Smiley were critically injured and taken to local hospitals for treatment. Their conditions were unknown Tuesday.
Smiley is wanted on two counts of first-degree vehicular homicide and one count of reckless driving, Marbury said.
