The Braves lost right-hander Ryan Weber to the Mariners on a waiver claim Wednesday.

Weber, 26, was 1-4 with a 5.15 ERA in 21 games (seven starts) over parts of two major league seasons with the Braves, including 1-1 with a 5.45 ERA in 16 games (two starts) in 2016. He had 23 strikeouts with five walks in 2016 but also allowed seven home runs in 36 1/3 innings.

A 22nd-round draft pick in 2009, Weber was 33-36 with a 3.78 ERA in 203 games (77 starts) over eight minor league seasons with the Braves.

He was among the players who’ve been placed on waivers recently by the Braves as the team creates spots on its 40-man roster for players it expects to acquire this offseason and prospects it must protect in the December Rule 5 draft.
